Summary
We do not offer refunds on paid subscriptions. You can cancel at any time and retain access until the end of your billing period. Student and Faculty users get a 7-day free trial before any payment is required.
No-Refund Policy
All payments for OpenRLens paid plans (Student at $5/month, Faculty at $10/month, and Consultants at $99/month) are non-refundable. This applies to monthly subscription charges once a billing cycle has started.
We maintain this policy because:
- Student and Faculty users receive a 7-day free trial before any payment is required — giving you a full opportunity to evaluate the platform (Faculty trials include 5 deep analyses)
- Access to Institution Intel and all paid features is granted immediately upon payment
- Our costs (data infrastructure, API usage) are incurred at the time of use
Cancellation
You may cancel your subscription at any time. Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period — you will not be charged again, and you retain full access to paid features until that date.
To cancel: go to your account settings and select “Cancel subscription”, or email us at info@openrlens.com and we will cancel it for you within 24 hours.
Exceptions
We will consider a refund in the following exceptional circumstances:
- You were charged in error (duplicate charge or technical billing fault)
- The platform was completely inaccessible for more than 72 consecutive hours during your paid period
To request an exception, email info@openrlens.com within 7 days of the charge with your order details. We will review each case individually.
Payment Processing
Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, who acts as the merchant of record. All applicable taxes (including EU VAT) are handled by LemonSqueezy at checkout. Receipts are issued by LemonSqueezy and sent to your registered email address.
